Man rapes 6 year old girl, leaves her naked in alley

Featured Replies

God doesn't allow the rape to happen, but it happens because he has given us all free will and that person will live with the consequences on Earth and then on their Judgement Day.

God allowing evil is such a tremendously hard concept to understand and one I had alot of trouble grasping, then acepting, and then eventually believing.

My thoughts/reasoning/belief:

1. If God didn't allow evil, we'd all be dead and there would be no way that free will could exist.

2. God allows evil to lead to repentence (2 Peter 3:9). The sin will not be tolerated forever and will end under God's timing.

Not allowing evil doesn't necessitate death. In fact, negation of free will doesn't mean we're dead either. It's concievable to let people have free will but to limit their choices of evil (ie eliminating evil choice so that they can only choose amongs various goods).

An all-powerful God would punish evil before it was to happen in the case of gross injustice anyways. But, the free will argument would and can counteract that. But, what in the case of someone born crazy and killing? Didn't God also make that person and imbue them without free will and to choose to do something entirely crazy? Because it's obvious to me that there are crazy people who kill not of their own volition but simply because they're crazy.

Killing criminals still only makes you a criminal.

Whatever.

Perhaps in the definition of the law, but anyone with kids of their own surely wouldn't fault me for it if I was ever god forbid put into a situation like that where one of my children was victimized like this.

It sends a very clear message to the child predators out there.... Stay the f*** away from my kids!

Didn't you promise to protect the constitution and doesn't even the killing of murders and not letting the law take care of them somehow violate that, in some small way?

I'm interested to hear about this.

Eh, you miss the point. You ask why would God allow this to happen. It's because of the free will. If he allowed no evil, we have all done evil things, he would have to perish everyone on Earth in the situation we are in now. No one with free will will be with out sin

God preseves the simple (Psalm 116 v. 6). Those who can't reach the age of accountabilty whether it be mentally or physically, will not be eternally punished and will go to Heaven.

There is no hell, or no devil (as in there cannot be). Because if there is then God isn't all-benevolent. God cannot be all-benevolent and allow a hell and/or the devil.

And hell also isn't a product of free will because free will, as I argued earlier, doesn't necessarily mean we can choose evil. That being said, if God creates man and is all-powerful that also means he can see what the man will do, etc. Once again, God's all-power then becomes a problem, too, because that means when God creates a soul, etc. he can see evil and yet doesn't do anything about it. So, when Jeffrey Dahlmer's soul is imprinted onto his body, on whatever level God has put Dahlmer's personality in that soul and created he has partaken in evil.

As for Psalm 16, that means crazy people, in this case our crazy killer, goes to heaven. Which I guess I understand because I'm arguing there can't be a hell if God is a) all powerful and b) all benevolent. Because if he meets requirement a) and b) that means there isn't a hell and there can't be evil at all.

Anyone could easily argue that if God created them and is all benevolent than any action you can do, rape, murder, etc. is essentially okay, morally.

And where's God in all of those? Not there. He doesn't come from on high, and he most definitely gives us no sign of existence and ruling on matters. Not saying God doesn't exist, necessarily, but that there's no evidence we can point to of God's will. Some would say the bible, but I don't/can't/won't take that book literally.

I don't get why an all-benelovent God means that there can not be evil on Earth (product of free will) or a Hell. Just because the God is good, why does that mean everything now has to be that way. God created a perfect world, in his image, but when Eve turned her back on the Lord because of her free-will, it created evil and hell.

God doesn't directly interfere with our daily life.

Maybe I'm not understanding your theory fully but if you could expand on it and/or re-explain I'd appreciate it before I respond again. :thumbup

all benevolence means he would be incapable of creating evil. If God is the first mover and the creator of everything that means he would have created the devil and hell.

if someone kidnapped and raped my 6 year old little girl, as god as my witness I would do everything in my power to make that person suffer an extremely painful death. If it resulted in me going to prison for the rest of my life, it would be worth it.

So you care nothing for her well being?

As it is she is traumatized and now you'd like her to grow up in a life without a father figure?

Yay responsibility.

Thats stupid...because killing some child predator will really put a dent into future crimes against kids :|

If you did kill someone who victimized your child, the only person staying the f*** away from your kids is you while you spend 25 to life in jail
