October 7, 200323 yr I think the Marlins pitching is being being overlooked and I hope the Marlins pitchers show why they are also very talented pitching staff. :cheers to Beckett Penny Redman DW bringing their A game ....
October 7, 200323 yr ive been thinking the same thing, its like everybody forgets how our staff pitched this season
October 7, 200323 yr better bring the A+ game. Penny did a 'decent' job against Wood last time out. Beckett has been pretty decent. Redman has been solid all year.... Willis has done an ok job lately.
October 7, 200323 yr Beckett went toe-to-toe with Jason Schmidt who'll be in contention for the Cy Young. Brad Penny pitched toe-to-toe with Kerry Wood in the Cubs 1-0 win earlier this year. Mark Redman got a win against the Cubs and pitched well. Dontrelle got a win also & pitched well. He got knocked around in another game, the one after that long rain-delay. Pavano pitched 7 shutout innings in a start vs the Cubs until they got to him in the 8th inning.
October 7, 200323 yr It all comes down to hitting, not pitching. If the Marlins hit, especially with runners on, the Marlins will win!
October 7, 200323 yr the keys to winning.... pitching defense clutch hitting i wouldnt be shocked if no team scores more than 4 runs in any game this series.
October 7, 200323 yr Author Beckett went toe-to-toe with Jason Schmidt who'll be in contention for the Cy Young. Brad Penny pitched toe-to-toe with Kerry Wood in the Cubs 1-0 win earlier this year. Pavano pitched 7 shutout innings in a start vs the Cubs until they got to him in the 8th inning. Beckett game 1 performance was as good as any pitcher in the post season.I would like to see Brad Penny step it up and pitch like he did last time he faced the cubs.
