Posted January 12, 200718 yr The following was in today's New York Daily News by Ralph Vacchiano: Fish game likely in London The Giants' road to Super Bowl XLII likely will include a trip overseas. The NFL is expected to announce in a few weeks that the Giants' regular-season game against the Miami Dolphins in 2007 will be played at London's Wembley Stadium. The Giants would be the visiting team in that game. Earlier this week, the NFL announced that six teams - Buffalo, Kansas City, Miami, New Orleans, San Francisco and Seattle - were in the running to be the home team for the league's inaugural overseas, regular-season game, which would be played in England or Germany. Every team in the league is expected to play at least one game outside the U.S. during the next 16years. According to one report yesterday, the NFL will announce next week that the game will be played in London. That report also said it's possible that the Bills will be the road team. But the Giants obviously have a higher profile than the Bills, and sponsors of the game in England reportedly have been pushing for the Giants for more than a year. This is terrible news for me personally because this game was going to be a Dolphins home game and I was going to go to this game. Why can't the NFL pick another game for London? Damn NFL!
January 12, 200718 yr They are picking the dolphins and giants because they are both hugely popular internationally.
January 12, 200718 yr It sucks for any giants fans in miami who have been waiting for the giants to come. I wonder what the other game will be, the nfl said two games will be played overseas. I think the other one will either be in canada or mexico.
January 12, 200718 yr It would be even more fusturating if the game is only broadcasted on NFL network.
January 12, 200718 yr It would be cool to go to the game. When the jets get picked I hope its in Berlin...
January 12, 200718 yr It's cool that the Dolphins were chosen to play overseas, but at the same time I'd be pretty steamed if I were a season ticket holder. I wonder how they plan on making the loss of such a big game on the home schedule up to the fans. I'm not one of them though. I didn't renew my tickets. :anon
January 12, 200718 yr local teams games are always carried by the major networks even on thursdays That's great and all, but I'm up in Hicksville, North of Tampa Bay since 1999 :confused and my local cable company, like most of em, don't carry NFL network

Instead I just have been going to a local bar with some friends. But, I have to think an international game would be shown on national network tv. :banghead hopefully
January 13, 200718 yr In general, I like my teams getting exposure, so I like that we'll be the first to do this. Sure, we'll be losing a home game, but I'd rather we lose it during a rebuilding year than during a random season sometime in the next 16 years. Plus, it spares us the inevitable spectacle of watching Giants fans take over our stadium.
