How Far will the Heat go?

8th

8th?

No one eastern conference scares me.All I know they are playooffs bound but could end up in any position from 6th and up.

5th seed , Eastern is too easy to make the playoffs to get 8th seed Miami all has to do is end up wuith 42-40 record

yea but in case you havent notice our team is not to good. We have no depth and the season is on Odom who is a big ?, and two young players Wade and Butler, then we have Grant and Jones. Thats it we have no bench.

No...................You tell me who in the eastern conference has a bench that scares you..

I am utterly shocked that, at the time of posting, 70% of people think the Heat will make the playoffs this year.

It'll be SEVERAL years before we have a shot of winning anything. Basketball--with its small rosters and "soft" salary caps--is one of those sports where it takes a LONG time for a struggling franchise to become good, or a good team to become bad (exception: da Bulls). It's totally different than the NFL (true cyclicism and parity) or the MLB (free agency + midseason acquisitions = winner). We aren't even CLOSE to having a championship caliber core for a few years.

Since when did Lamar Odom become Karl Malone? Although I hope the Heat do make it to the playoffs, realistically I know it's probably not going to happen. You can't draw conclusions from a good preseason win-loss record in the NBA. Personally, I'm not a fan of odds--anyone who has followed the Marlins this season knows that odds aren't always correct--but the Heat are CONSISTENTLY ranked 11th or worse in the East. Obviously any team could potentially make the playoffs in the East, but the odds are against the Heat:
