March 18, 200719 yr They may use the same design if they decide to put it at the OB this time, again. http://www.brendtoconnell.com/Marlins.html
March 18, 200719 yr David1 - Thanx for Sharing the Awesome Pics. This Ballpark would be unique, and one of a kind in design plus something the Marlins Fans could be proud of for the next 30 years. I for one hope it can be altered to a Downtown Site, as the OB is horrible from a Public Transportation and Highway Access perspective, plus a neighborhood that would have none of the bars, and "life" of a Wrigleyville or Fenway. My main question from your design is will the Concourses be ENCLOSED and AIR CONDITIONED? Hard to tell what is design detail in the lattice-like work outside, and what would be enclosed in shearing and/or windows. I think I can speak for every last Marlins Fan when I say I hope to never have to stand in line to get a Hot Dog or Beer and sweat again like we have too at the Garbage Dump in North Dade. I hope all the councourses are A/C Interior Designed with open views of field on all levels like in most new parks. The best example I have seen is Citizens Bank Park in Philly where you can walk around entire park and never miss a pitch. Please enlighten me and the board with anymore details you can provide.
March 18, 200719 yr Here is some video of the model: http://capefish.blogspot.com/2007/03/video...range-bowl.html However, I believe this model is not currently the one considered.
March 18, 200719 yr Author How do you know that? Have you seen any other models that are being considered? Just wondering. Thanks
March 18, 200719 yr Check out the links I have posted, there you will get the story. The website you posted belongs to an architect that used to work for HOK, the Marlins' architectural firm. He has since left and the project naturally has progressed into another direction as time has gone on.
March 18, 200719 yr Thanks for posting the pics David1 I just have one question: Where will Boba Fett live during the summer when the Marlins are playing baseball in his fortress?
March 18, 200719 yr Author Can you direct me to an exact posting in your blog? I am very interested in this. I mean, are they now heading the retro route?
March 18, 200719 yr Can you direct me to an exact posting in your blog? I am very interested in this. I mean, are they now heading the retro route? No, just that the design referenced above is not exactly it. http://capefish.blogspot.com/search?q=O%27Connell
March 20, 200719 yr I would love to see them incorporate some art deco style simmilar to south beach into the stadium
March 20, 200719 yr Yeah but downtown Miami is not South Beach. It has to be something that goes along with the architecture of the area.
March 25, 200719 yr Thanks for posting the pics, this would make for an awesome home for the Marlins.
April 4, 200719 yr Looks like a pretty sweet park :cool , if we can get approval for it. The best thing about it is it has a retractable roof, so people can't use the same "but it always rains there" excuse.
