Ive heard alot in some threads about 1984. I assume the cubs blew it big time like usual then but i was just learning to crawl so i had already learned to hate the cubs but had no idea what was goin on in the game. How close were the cubs? Can someone fill me in

best of 5 series, Cubs won 1st 2 at home, were one win away from the pennant. lost 3 staright at San Diego. they lost game 5 with their best pitcher when their 1st basemen let a ball go through his legs (like Bill Buckner) and that opened up a 4 run inning.

how about Zambrano gets pissed, throws a trash can and sprains Prior and Wood's ankles in the process

Yup...the Cubs blew it in 1984. I think that was the first year I got WGN and watched every game they showed which in those days were most of the games. It was so heartbreaking to see San Diego win those three games!! They were an exciting team.

The same thing is happening to them again. History does repeat itself!

Good Luck to the Marlins!!

No, this is Jack's first year in the playoffs. Though he might have been the GM at the time, not sure.
