October 16, 200322 yr Whenever I flip the channel and see highlights of the game, I see the people talking about the curse this, the fan that, Cubs lose, instead, it should be... MARLINS WIN MARLINS BREAK THE CUBS HEARTS MARLINS WITH A GREAT COMEBACK MARLINS SHOCK THE WORLD (Except for the peeps in SoFla) MARLINS ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES Did anyone see Regis and Kelly? I woke up at 9:55 so I missed it but I wanted to see what they had to say about last night. Oh well, at least I get to see Jay Mariotti and Mike Wilbon! i saw it for the first couple of minutes to see if they would even mention the cubs game but didnt hear a thing so watched sports center
October 16, 200322 yr I think it's been pretty measured actually. I mean there was going to be a lot of talk about the Cubs just for the sole fact that they blew a 3-1 series lead, even without all the curses stuff. But I think most are realizing that the Cubs did not beat the Cubs. It was the Marlins who beat them.
October 16, 200322 yr The Cubs are one of the most storied franchises in baseball. Of course they'll be talked about more than the 10-yr old Marlins. It's just the way things go.
October 16, 200322 yr Luis Gonzalez. He's on ESPN Radio AllNight once a week, last week he said the Fish would win the NLCS, last night he said we're going to win the World Series. His interview basically consisted of him gushing over the Marlins non-stop, so there's at least one guy. The cover of the Columbus Dispatch sports was "MARLINS SHED NO TEARS" with Urbina and Pudge celebrating with a PRICELESS picture of some Cubs fan crying underneath.
