apparently, tbs has the selection show this sunday for the all star game, and they said on tv it was going to be during or after the braves vs. marlins game this sunday. that means there's a good chance that it's blacked out here in south florida. so will we have to wait till later to find out if our boys made the all star team than the rest of the us?

It will not be blacked out.

In fact, TBS's coverage of the game may not be blacked out either. I have not noticed a TBS blackout at all.

On a side note, TBS HD is launching nationwide on September 1st....just in time for the playoffs which TBS will have including any tiebreakers, the Division Series, and the National League Championship Series. In 2008, TBS will have a Sunday Afternoon Game of the Week (one team may only appear 13 times out of the 26 telecasts), the All Star Selection Show, any tiebreakers, the Division Series, and the American League Championship Series.

Any playoff games TBS doesn't have will be on FOX.

the only reason the game wasn't blacked out on tbs that one day was because fsn didn't have the marlins game, so this one will be getting blacked out in south florida. so i'm guessing the show may also get the blackout, it's a possibility since the cable co's may think of it as an extension of the game, so we'll need online updates from the rest of america.

It is a different program, cable companies will not think it is the same as the 1 pm baseball game.

Exactly, TBS has it as a different program. They don't black out Major Leagues that may usually follow a Braves game do they?

Don't know what you talking about. At&T will black it out. They always do.

AT&T? They haven't rolled out U-Verse in Florida yet.

TBS blackouts should only apply to MLB Baseball games where FSN Florida/Sun Sports is televising the same game from Dolphin Stadium.

However, there is a movie called Major Leagues that airs on TBS frequently and that along with any other TBS programming should not be blacked out.

You will able to see All Star Selection Show on TBS according to MLB's rules. If you don't, then either TBS or your provider goofed. But the All Star Selection Show is not blacked out anywhere.
