Fredo threw me a ball yesterday.

I went with my dad and my sister. Good game despite the rain. Cool hats given away. My sister saw her first baseball game and I had to teach her the basics of the game. My dad had fun. It's the first time I've been to a game with my dad since 95 against the Rockies when Terry Pendleton hit a home run down the left field line. Overall it was good to finally go to a game with somebody else instead of sitting in the Fish Tank by myself.

The best to go with your Dad. I used to take my Dad, but the last game I remember going with him was that brutally hot game where Gallaraga hit that tape measure job. We were in the upper deck and melting in our seats but my dad moved down to where the entrance ramp was behind a seat. He was sitting there looking comfortable and I was like a rotisserie chicken and could not figure out how he was so comfy. Well, there is a huge breeze blowing through those entrance ramps-had to be 15 degrees cooler. Just a story I remember. He was the first person I called from the stadium after game 7 in 1997. He passed two months later.

sorry dude. Makes you put taking your family really into prospective.

I go with my wife but i would not have a problem going by myself like the previous poster stated i too am one of those fans who focuses on the game almost to the point where i can ignore my surroundings ....btw i have got the topic starter topped my wife won the super fan of the game and we got a mike jacobs autographed jersey and on saturday i met and got an autograph at the aventura mall from dan uggla

I go to some games alone also. Wife can't make every one. And she uually has to work Saturday nights. However, she won that Super Fan thing once last year. I think it was rigged tho. It was on our wedding anniversary and I also had our names up on the screnn and had a visit from Billy for her. And I was getting hammered. LOL

This is a great post. My dad isn't in town during the summer but whenever that rare time does happen I take him to a game. He's really a Dodgers fan (used to go to Ebbits Field and even saw Jackie) and always roots for whoever we are playing just to razz me a bit. It's always a fun outing and I sure do wish we could do it more often. It sounds as if you are treasuring those moments, and you should. My dad had a bout with cancer and beat it. But it had them selling their winter home in Lakeland so they could spend more time near their grandkids for the entire year northeast of Syracuse. Both of my folks really loved attending FanFest with us every year. My mom in her Marlins cap and my dad in his Dodger blue.

BTW Agree. Those hats were pretty nice. The next Sunday home game is floppy hat day. I've seen them already. Best floppy hats we've had in a few years.

Good job! Getting a ball from Amezaga is hard, seeing as he misses the fishtank half the time. I got a foul ball off Uggla last time the mets were down here.

I can't go to a game without someone else, cause god forbid I end up sitting next to those bastards who are going for the other team (not difficult here). But luckily for me my fiancee loves the Marlins as much as I do.

Fredo never misses the Fish Tank. Unfortunetly, it is usually the 125 or 126 section. Rarely does he toss it to the 127 section, so I guess that is where you sit. I've gotten quite a few balls over the years. I always check the crowd for a real young kid and hand him/her the ball. The look on their face is worth the price of a ticket to the game. Also, at alot of games this year this little girl and her brother come down to the wall ( we sit on the wall and in seats 1 and 2) between innings trying for a ball. He has a glove, she dosen't. I lend her my glove to even things up a bit. She looks a little awkward with that big glove on, but she sure is havng a great time.
