July 8, 200719 yr :lol You gotta love Rich's explanation for why he got dozens of foul balls... ironic given they were interviewing Samson. :lol Did you also notice Rich saying, "it was easy to get the foul balls because usually there were only nine... nine hundred to a thousand fans at the game after Finley's fir... sold off all the good players." You know he was going to say "nine thousdand" and "firesale," but decided to say something else.
July 8, 200719 yr On Saturday, Cabrera got the ball rolling in the fourth for the Marlins after fouling a 3-1 pitch into the stands, which Samson -- part of the crowd of 46,177 -- reached out and caught. When Cabrera homered just over the right-field wall, Samson saluted the Marlins' only All-Star by pointing to the slugger as he crossed home plate. ''Really?'' Cabrera replied when told Samson had caught one of his foul balls. ``Unbelievable. I knew he can swim and run, but I didn't know he could catch the ball.'' Cabrera was referring to Samson's completion of last year's Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii.
