July 23, 200719 yr Last year, he was but a 22 year old rookie lefty who went 7-2 with the Red Sox in 15 starts before his season was of course cut short due to cancer. The bad news for him is return game is at Cleveland, who has the best home record in baseball. The good news is he's facing Jake Westbrook, who has SUCKED this season. Anyways, I wish Lester the best and hope he has all the success in the world, it's amazing to me that he's back just a year after the diagnosis, what a story.
July 23, 200719 yr This is an awesome story and as anyone who has followed the Sox knows, he's been wanting to pitch in the majors since May or so, he's going to be really amped up for tonight's start.
July 23, 200719 yr Awesome news. I hope he absolutley dominates now that he's back. I don't care if he's a Red Sock, you have got to root for this guy.
