August 3, 200718 yr I was driving from Jacksonville to Tallahassee I-10 West and it was pouring the whole way. Well I was about halfway there and there was this car in front of me and it was spraying water all over and I wanted to get around him and get out of that so I could see, well as I switch lanes and try to speed up, I lost control of my car, like you know that feeling when you're driving and your car spins out or something like that and you lose control for a bit? Well I lost complete control and the car swerved towards the guy in front of me and I miss him by, I swear to God, an inch and I swerve back to the right and I still don't have control and I'm going crazy trying to brake and stop and control the car but I couldn't and the car swerved back to the left and I spun out to the median. I regained control and got back on the road. Needless to say, I was freaked out and I drove 50 the rest of the way. It's crazy because there was a semi about 30-40 feet behind me so if I spun out and stopped on the road, I think I would've been killed and I mean, it was POURING so I don't think he would've stopped in time. I just gotta thank God because that was easily the scariest moment of my life. Just had to share that story. :confused
August 3, 200718 yr i try to not drive in the rain at all because 90% of the people out there don't know how to do it. I still don't feel comfortable driving in it and never will probably.
August 3, 200718 yr Gotta be extra careful when driving in conditions like that. You say the car in front of you was spraying water and affecting your visibility, then you probably shouldn't have been as close as you were. You are lucky to get out of that without a wrecked car or worse.
August 3, 200718 yr Honestly, I don't have much experience driving on the interstate especially in the rain, I had to drive through because my sister's graduation is tomorrow. You're right, Dodge, I was a bit too close but not like riding his tail. I'm also thinking it might be my tires, I don't know, I think I'm gonna have it checked out sometime before I leave to go home.
August 3, 200718 yr because 90% of the people out there don't know how to do it. I still don't feel comfortable driving in it and never will probably. I agree on that. And people in South Florida: DON'T USE YOUR HAZARDS WHEN IT IS RAINING! I don't think people down here understand this concept.
August 3, 200718 yr I counted like 6 people using their hazards and also bunches of people were just blazing it past me when the rain was hitting real hard, I thought they were insane. There were semi's riding my tail on the way home as if I wasn't scared enough.
August 3, 200718 yr Wow...glad you're okay. One time down in Plantation I was riding in the passenger seat on some small road at night and a dude pulls out from a side street right into the path of the car--it would have probably hit me directly had my (then) girlfriend not done some quick thinking and swerved out of the way. We were the only car on the road so to this day I think whoever was driving the other car was trying to crash it intentionally.
August 3, 200718 yr I know how it feels. Drove to Tallahassee yesterday, drove back today. Got rained on almost 80% of the time.....DON'T USE YOUR HAZARD BLINKERS UNLESS YOU ARE A HAZARD TO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC!
August 3, 200718 yr rule number one when out of control in slick driving conditions... do not panic and do not hit the brakes. good job making it out unscathed though... many people are not so lucky
August 3, 200718 yr driving in the rain gets my senses jazzed and i'm at my best in inclimate conditions. people suck at driving as a general rule, no matter the condition.
August 3, 200718 yr Eeh driving in the rain is dangerous. A couple of months ago I went 125 in the expressway driving in the rain, and i was changing lanes like a maniac. I still don't know what got into my head that day. Glad to hear everything turned out fine for you though.

I've stopped speeding though, it's been a couple months since I've passed 100 MPH.. i think. I take the expressway to and from work, so yeah i used to hit 100+ every night, not anymore though. I've learned.
