August 8, 200719 yr yes there is just checked it myself. interesting. but i knew those stats were in olivo's favor. even so, fredi just can't hit someone, who has such poor trips to the plate, cleanup. You're an idiot. You came on asking if everyone else was worried about Fredi's brain and you get more and more evidence against your claims and you continue to disagree. These people hate Olivo but will admit that it wasn't as dumb a decision as you seemingly want it to be. Then when you see that the stats only validate your ridiculousness, you dont concede, you claim that despite all that, Fredi just cant do it! i said from the outset in the first post, before anybody else said anything, that the stats were in olivo's favor and what i was talking about was beyond that. a sense of fredi's mental functioning and intelligence, and how he "thinks about a lot of stuff." you didn't contribute to confirming that or rejecting it in any way. you did mangle my words and thoughts as per usual. eh, but what's the sense in being accurate??? anyway, you're an idiot. learn how to read. and once you've done that, read the 1st post of this thread. In your first post, you included Ross' career stats against Moyer and immediately follow that up by putting up Olivo's season batting avg and avoiding the more important stats you couldve listed. If Fredi shouldve taken Ross' career stats vs Moyer into account, why not Olivo's? You dont want to see the facts you just want to call Fredi stupid about 40 times. You go on to say that Fredi has not shown any balls, maybe batting your .230 avg having, 8th in the order hitting catcher cleanup took some balls.
August 8, 200719 yr i don't have a fredi vendetta. its more of a vendetta against idiots, if anything. and olivo did luck into one tonight. he should have gidp in the first just like in arizona when he was moved up but uggla saved him. and as i've said before, i disagree with just about every decision fredi makes, though its difficult to post every time he makes a decision. and i don't wanna start a fredi thread every night so i try to pick the ridiculously egregious ones or the ones that make me think fredi has zero grey matter. See, this is my problem with your whole Fredi rant. How can you say that Fredi should have ignored Olivo's specific stats against Moyer, finesse pitchers, etc. and made a decision based on his whole body of work, and, in the same breath, make a comment like "he should have GIDP in the first just like in Arizona" ? How can you honetly say that he SHOULD have GIDP? That's just absurd. The probability of Olivo NOT GIDP > The probability Olivo GIDP. And, I can faithfully make this claim because it's true for Olivo and EVERY other hitter in MLB that has even a decent sample size of DP situations. So, let me just make this clear. You're saying Olivo ought to have grounded into a double play because of what he did in one game, but he shouldn't have batted cleanup against Moyer because his stats against Moyer only reflect one game? Consistency, thy name is hanley2.

August 8, 200719 yr This is an extremely stupid topic in reaction to last night's game. There is alot to kill Fredi for in general but he had no affect on the outcome of last night's game, no lineup arrangement would have prevented the detonation of the Marlins by Philly bats. This is just a crappy excuse to pile on Fredi.

Well, the fact that you used Ross' stats vs Moyer while using only Olivo's season batting average immediately following that would allow most any literate reader to infer that you are using Ross' stats against Moyer and not Olivo's. But anyway, like I said in my last post, you've done enough yourself to justify the decision, you simply havent acknowledged it.

August 8, 200719 yr Right, I got that. If its Hal McRae and he decides to put John Flaherty in the 4 spot one day, and one day only, and you catch highlights of the DRays after Who's Now and you see the Rays win with a 3-4 day from Flaherty with a walkoff hit, you say "wow, what a genius move."

Olivo will be gone soon enough. well okay, i don't like it. but this is the problem i'm having. to say olivo destroys lefties is a bit much. a lot much. his career numbers against lefties: .293 ba, .318/.530/.848. he has 24 hr in 460 ab's vs. lhp as opposed to 31 hr in 1228 ab's vs. rhp. so his much greater hr pace is reflected in his high slg%. his career against finesse pitchers: .247 ba, .277/.412/.689. can you really say he destroy's them or owns them?
August 8, 200719 yr Author .848 OPS is awesome. If he doesn't own them, he definitely has stock in them hahaha, alright. :mis2 :mis2 :mis2 :mis2 :mis2 :mis2 :mis2
