It had to have been planned. A hit of sorts...I wish he was caught I'm curious for the motive.

I think the lead detectives in this case know more than is getting leaked out to the public. And rightfully so.

I don't think it was a hit Sandro. I just think he rolled up on some bad dudes with warrants and/or a sh*t load of dope and and guns in the car and the dudes just were not going back to jail (I say back to jail because its extremely likely that whoever did this has already done time inside).

Then again I could just be optimistic. Im really hoping they have some solid leads at this point (Ive heard some rumors but nothing substantial).

The Murder Weapon may have been dumped in a canal.

Chris Reyka Murder Weapon May Be In Canal

Reporting

Carey Codd POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) ― Detectives could have a break in the murder case of BSO Deputy Chris Reyka, and it involves details of a possible dumped murder weapon.

According to a Miami Herald report, a key witness in the case told detectives that he believes the weapon used to kill Reyka was dumped in a Pompano Beach canal by someone dealing with a gang suspected of robbing several area drugstores. Detectives are looking for the weapon that could link someone involved with the gang to the crime.

The report states that the same weapon used to kill Reyka may have been among those used by the gang in their drugstore robberies. Timothy Johnson, who was already arrested in December, is considered the ringleader of the gang. However detectives may be looking at the possibility that Johnson's brother, and his sister, Consuelo Jones, may have devised a plan to hire someone to get rid of the weapons.

Until now, police had been tight-lipped about divulging whatever little info they had on the murder that occurred at a Pompano Beach Walgreens store on August 10, 2007. In the early morning hours Reyka was conducting a car theft detail in the area, and was about to approach a suspicious car parked at Walgreen's. Without time to react, Reyka was shot dead, and the shooter(s) got away, never to be seen again.
