October 7, 200718 yr I know there is a discussion for the nfl, but I felt this needed its own thread. Please have Trent Green in your thoughts. Don't know what to think so soon, just hope he can come of out this healthy. Obviously, it looks like his career may be over with a second horrible concussion.
October 7, 200718 yr Man, I hope he recovers. Who cares about football, I just hope he can lead a normal life after this.
October 7, 200718 yr Let Beck get the ball now. Stay classy! :thumbup his point isnt a knock on green...but if you didnt see this one coming, then you dont football regularly...we drafted beck in the 2nd round and with the given situation...this is when you play him

Stay classy! :thumbup his point isnt a knock on green...but if you didnt see this one coming, then you dont football regularly...we drafted beck in the 2nd round and with the given situation...this is when you play him Yeah, I "don't football" regularly, I do watch football every Sunday. My point is this is a thread hoping for the recovery of Trent Green's health, not a "START JOHN BECK!" thread.
October 7, 200718 yr Wow, this guy is a badass. The season's virtually worthless and he took a hit like that. I appreciate the effort, but that was totally unnecessary. Hopefully he has no lasting damage and he can retire with a fantastic career under his belt.
October 7, 200718 yr I think Green will be able to lead a normal life from here on out (I have nothing to confirm this just my feeling) but I definitely think his playing days are long gone. Good luck Trent and hope all goes well.
October 7, 200718 yr HOUSTON -- Miami Dolphins quarterback Trent Green suffered a concussion and was taken off the field on a stretcher Sunday after trying to throw a block against Houston. He went to a hospital for observation, but returned to the stadium after the game. The Dolphins remained winless after falling to the Texans 22-19. The 37-year-old Green was sidelined for more than half of last season for the Kansas City Chiefs after sustaining a concussion in the opener. The Dolphins had the ball at the Texans 25-yard line when Green tried to pitch the ball to Ted Ginn Jr. The rookie fumbled, then picked the ball up and reversed field as the defense chased him. Texans defensive tackle Travis Johnson hit Green in the head with his knee before Ginn was tackled by Anthony Weaver. After the play ended, Johnson stood over Green and taunted him, drawing a 15-yard penalty. Green lay still for several seconds as medical staff rushed to check on him. The Dolphins gathered near midfield and kneeled to pray a few feet away. Green was strapped to a stretcher and carted off as both teams crowded around him. He was moving his arms on the field. Green was acquired by the Dolphins in June. It was the second serious injury in the last two games at Reliant Stadium. Two weeks ago, Houston defensive tackle Cedric Killings was taken off the field on a stretcher after getting hit on a special teams play. Killings broke a vertebrae in his neck and was hospitalized for five days. Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press Good to see that he appears to be fine. Hopefully he realizes his life is more important than this and he retires. The Dolphins should not allow him to take the field again.

And I also gotta tip my hat to Trent for playing with heart, he saw the play was going nowhere yet he still tried to take a defensive guy out to try to help his player, it was effing bad luck he had to get hit like that. Hopefully he comes out healthy, but I think he shouldnt play anymore. ITS BECK TIME!
October 11, 200718 yr Dolphins QB Trent Green expects to return this season DAVIE - Dolphins quarterback Trent Green was in Kansas City on Wednesday being examined by the same specialists that treated him for last year's concussion, and coach Cam Cameron said the 14-year NFL veteran is optimistic he'll play again this season. Green lay unconscious on the field for less than five minutes early in the 22-19 loss to Houston Sunday after his head collided with the knee of Houston defensive tackle Travis Johnson while making a legal cut block on a botched reverse. He was taken to a nearby hospital for observation but released shortly after and allowed to return to South Florida with the team despite suffering a Grade 3 concussion. Last season Green missed eight games because of a concussion he suffered on a collision caused by his failure to slide at the end of a run for the Chiefs. Cameron talked to Green before addressing the media Wednesday afternoon and said Green's "very encouraged" about his status. "He's dealing with the people he dealt with last year so he can make direct comparison," Cameron said. "He's really upbeat if you can imagine. That's what makes those guys who they are and what they are. They are competitors and think a little differently than the rest of us. They can't imagine not playing, and they want to be back out there playing as soon as possible. "With all that being said we've got to let this thing play out, and we'll keep you updated." Cleo Lemon, a fourth-year veteran who filled in for Green against the Texans, will get the start on Sunday at Cleveland. Lemon took what Cameron estimates as 85 to 90 percent of the snaps with the first-team offense on Wednesday. Rookie quarterback John Beck is more involved with the base offense, but is still running the scout team, preparing the defense by running Cleveland's plays. Cameron said the organization has discussed bringing in another quarterback, possibly signing someone to the practice squad to run the scout team, but decided to hold off until next week to make a move. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/footbal...0,1399565.story The man has had two severe concussions in the last two years and he wants to play again. Talk about someone who does'nt care about his well being or about the well being of his family. I guess he wont learn until he's a vegetable.
October 11, 200718 yr All the respect in the world for being a teammate like that, but the organization has to intervene. He wants to play a couple of "going out" snaps or something, fantastic, but he can't be put in a game situation again, it's just too darn stupid.
October 11, 200718 yr Cam has to put his foot down and say enough is enough. What is the point of coming back to an 0-5 team? He isnt winning anything this season. He has no shot at winning anything this season. I feel that it is pretty selfish of him to want to comeback.
