October 17, 200718 yr http://www.miamitodaynews.com/news/071018/story4.shtml http://www.miamitodaynews.com/news/071018/story1.shtml It's neither positive or negative news, really. Basically says there are problems, but there are ways to fix them. Perhaps it's encouraging that they are at a stage in negotiations where they would be even looking at this issue.
October 17, 200718 yr The city needs to dress up a shuttle service between the two closest MetroFail stops in order to encourage people to come in on mass transit. This may be a long shot, but this could help restart talks of a street card downtown. With a stadium in Little Havana supporters have more ammo on why such a system is needed downtown. I can't wait to see what type of redevelopment plans the city may have for the area.
October 17, 200718 yr Either a light rail circular line or some sort of dedicated bus rapid transit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bus_rapid_transit
October 17, 200718 yr Maybe they can give the Metromover a third ancillary (I think that's the word for it.) loop.
October 17, 200718 yr Jacksonville's Park & Ride system is basically bus rapid transit and it works excellently. $5 got me parking a lift to/from JAX Muni Stadium.
October 18, 200718 yr Any type of off site parking just adds more travel time. And travel time is going to be the crucial deciding factor for Broward and PB Counties. Off site parking will be fine for the casual fans, or week end warriors. But there is going to have to be enough on site parking for season ticket holders to buy season parking passes. Even for those that buy some variation of season packages. Have I said recently that I am still holding out hope for Hialeah? LOL
