October 27, 200719 yr http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/articl...sp&c_id=fla Intriguing prospect: Based on "stuff" alone, prospect Graham Taylor appears very ordinary. The 23-year-old lefty has a fastball regularly clocked from 86-89 mph. Yet, for a soft thrower, Taylor often has batters swinging at air. Hitters have come back to the dugout after facing Taylor saying, "I didn't see the ball." Great deception, plus a slider and changeup, have made Taylor one of the more interesting prospects in the organization. The 23-year-old was a 10th round pick out of Miami (Ohio) in 2006. He projects to open at Class A Jupiter, where he ended his '07 campaign. For much of the season, he was with low Class A Greensboro, where he finished 11-3 with a 2.68 ERA. His strikeouts to walks ratio was staggering: 135 strikeouts to just 18 walks in 164 1/3 innings. In 25 starts, he threw three complete games, including one shutout. Late in the year, he did labor a bit after being promoted to Jupiter, where he was 1-1, giving up nine runs in 10 innings while walking five and striking out three batters.
October 27, 200719 yr Glad we don't have Jacque Jones on our team... Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, but either way, I'd rather have Jacque Jones, the Cubs paying a lot of his contract, and his post .832 OPS. Maybe one day, we'll get a CF and not hold onto every arm.
