Question about stadium for all

Featured Replies

I have not been keeping up with the latest situation regarding the new Marlins Ballpark. I tried looking through some of the threads in this forum but I have not been able to find a good answer to the question. Are we getting a new stadium or not? If it is still up in the air what roadblocks remain? Any other info about the new ballpark would also be helpful.

Maybe we should consider putting up a sticky thread with the most recent information regarding the new ballpark so people like me, who have been away from the board and do not live in Miami but still want an update to the latest news. Just an idea. Anyhow, thanks in advance for bringing me up to date!

Go Marlins. Lookin forward to this season....

G O O O G L E and searching this site works best. But yes the stadium deal is done, however there are a few minor hurdles remaining which shouldn't be a problem.

Yea.... I am kidding. Thanks for taking the time to ask. Jeeez what is the big deal? I guess I am just skeptical about the new ballpark (even when read some threads that sounded promising). Sure, I saw a few threads that talked about the new ballpark but I was not sure if that was just because we were close to a DONE deal or because in fact the stadium IS a done deal and the ground breaking is about to start. I must have missed the thread that made that obvious, and I already said that I have been away from this board for a few months now.

The agreement between the Marlins, city, and county is DONE....not 100% done, but 99.9% done. There are a few minor points that need to be settled. That shouldn't be a concern. The Marlins do still need to find a contractor to build the stadium with the available funds. That's not done. There are some who prefer to wait until the construction contract is signed, or until the day construction begins, or until the day construction ends, to finally say we have a done deal. I'm in the camp that's waiting for construction to begin, but it's looking good.

Thanks man. I think I can agree with that. Once the construction begins I will be more comfortable about the situation

their is city and county issue and lawsuit that going court in late may after that we be flying like free bird

Wait until the Marlins find a contractor and sign a contract that states that they can build a "world-class" facility with the money available before you start flying. Because if they can't, then Loria has to go back with that open palm looking for more money, or some concession on over-runs. It's possible we could see another county commission meeting.

Ah, don't worry about it. You have reason to ask. The deal is done. A binding agreement was put into place between the city, county, and the team; the FISH will be in a new stadium in 2011.
