April 9, 200818 yr Even Miller himself agrees with Garbagemen that he should be sent down :thumbup He has done little to prove that he is ready to pitch above Double A. His 13 starts for Detroit last summer -- 39 walks and a 5.63 ERA in 64 innings -- were unimpressive. His delivery, even he would admit, is a major work in progress. Yet the moment he got the call that he had been acquired by the Marlins in the eight-player trade that sent All-Star third baseman Miguel Cabrera and lefthanded ace Dontrelle Willis to the Tigers, 22-year-old Andrew Miller knew he had just become a key part of a major league rotation. "I don't know that I deserve it," says the baby-faced lefthander, "but the reality is, [with Florida] you get chances you wouldn't normally." http://mlbclubhouse.proboards80.com/v45ind...3954&page=1 He actually said that to the media? Gonzo better slap him in the face and tell him there is no crying in baseball. Gonzo slaping a player? That will be the day when the FBI knock down Gonzalez office door and ask him where he is keeping the real Freddi at.

April 9, 200818 yr Some of you keep talking about what great stuff he has. His mid-high 80's fastball, terrible changeup and pedestrian slider coupled with terrible command have yet to impress me. I know throwing hard isn't everything, but damn. he can throw 95-97 ive seen him do it bunch of times. the nats radar gun is Always wrong. But i do think he needs more time in the minors as he really has not impressed me. If we bring up volstad and the same happens it will not be good. I hope Badenhop works out since hes older but damn do i miss anibal and JJ Andrew Miller is the next Rick Ankiel, minus the bat. And Cameron Maybin is gonna have a career line similar to Alex Arias but with more strikeouts when it is all over with. Hopefully when Cabrera is inducted into Cooperstown, he says a couple nice things about the Marlins organization so that you people who whine about us never being on Sportscenter can hear it and cream your shorts real good. :thumbup ...and you're a joke. :thumbup Maybin is hitting .460 in the minors. Alex Arias, clone. :whistle Nice to see you predicting the futures of a 21 (Maybin) year old, and Miller (22). The scouts seem to think, otherwise. I'll take their word for it. Seriously, you're predicting Tommy John's and all this stuff...what's the point of being a Marlins fan, then (for you)? And then you wonder why people call you pessimistic (oh, and yes, I already know your response will be "I don't care what you think, moron." Right?) It's really funny how you have Reggie Abercrombie on your sig. In case you haven't noticed, he's no longer here. You know what's funny? The fact that you take my Maybin/ Alex Arias comparison seruiously. That's about all I have to say to you though, cause I really don't want to waste any more keystrokes on you than are necessary, friend. hard to tell sarcasm on a message board. :thumbup A lot of you are saying the guy lacks confidence and some of the things he says are kind of indications of his lack of confidence. Find me a franchise pitcher thats insecure on the mound... You can have all the intangibles, but if you can't get confident enough to pitch in the bigs... you arent worth anything. Id rather he have a mechanics issue or a command issue and not a confidence issue. (I have seen one inning of him pitch. I am basing my comment on what you all have said)
