April 7, 200818 yr If Miller has another really bad outing like he had during his first start, do you guys think that he might get sent down ala RVH
April 7, 200818 yr Absolutely. I personally think the Tigers rushed him to the Bigs a tad bit. If he does bad tonight, I wouldn't mind seeing Miller spend a good part of the remainder of the year in the minors to work on some stuff.
April 7, 200818 yr I hope so. I think, just like the Hurk, Miller needs to work on some stuff. He's barely had anytime in the minors. He was rushed. With that said, I hope he can turn it around tonight, no doubt.
April 7, 200818 yr Hopefully watching his buddy Hurk get sent down will make him get his act together. Hopefully it scared him abit.
April 7, 200818 yr I think he'll get a little more rope than RVH. I think so too, but if he does get sent down Volstad could get a call.

April 7, 200818 yr Yeah I deffinately get ur point, but who would be next. Barone? Only person I can think of right now.
April 7, 200818 yr if he gets bombed bring up volstad I don't want to start the clock on Volstud just yet.
April 7, 200818 yr If it happens, I hope they do send him down. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks he needs more work, and unless he shows different, we should make sure he gets that work.
April 8, 200818 yr After seeing him today so far I dont see how he is any different from Hurk, yeah good stuff, but cant throw strikes... whats the point? he's young man, let him get work where it doesnt cost the big club a loss every five days. And please spare me the responses that read: "like one more loss is going to matter, etc."
April 8, 200818 yr I have this picture in my head of a revolving door. On one side is the Minors, on the other is the Marlins team. Wait. I see Miller going into the the door, just don't know who is going to come back out. funny if VandenHurk comes back.
April 8, 200818 yr Some of you keep talking about what great stuff he has. His mid-high 80's fastball, terrible changeup and pedestrian slider coupled with terrible command have yet to impress me. I know throwing hard isn't everything, but damn. So you've missed the numerous times he's dialed it up to the mid 90's, then? I know being "realistic" is your bit, but can you at least be informed, too?

I know throwing hard isn't everything, but damn. I didn't get to go to any spring training games this year but from all the buzz I was expecting 96-97 mph fastball against the Mets he topped out at 91 . Maybe his arm is tired but so far the velocity has not been there .
