July 12, 200817 yr I must have missed it. Why was he on ESPNews? Random Fact: I am going to buy God Of War II brb.
July 12, 200817 yr they asked him about him having swedish royalty and how excited he is about the derby. he said it wouldnt really mess up his swing because he is used it in BP. And he sounded real excited about having JJ and volstad in the rotation. Oh yeah he added that he is about 80-90% right now health wise
July 12, 200817 yr This brings up something I find both interesting and telling. Uggla is using Cantu's bat in the HR Derby. It's (from memory) and inch or a inch and half longer and an ounce or two heavier AND we think of Uggla as the strongman on the team with those Popeye arms of his. Uggla says he could never use it in a real game because he couldn't get it around fast enough. From the PBP: Uggla typically swings a 33 1/2-inch, 31-ounce bat. He'll increase to 34 1/2-inch, 3112 ounces for the derby. "I'm not strong enough to swing that big of a bat in a game," he said. Geez, what does that say about Jorge's Cantu's upper body strength? Watching him swinging it at the plate and generating the bat speed he does ... Wow ! is the word that comes to mind.
