(Question for those who have attended) I remember reading in the Sun Sentinel or something like that they are cutting 17 majors in the communication area. I would check to see if that would be one. Not because of lack of quality, but because of lack of interest.

Again I never went to FIU, but I looked into all of these S.FL schools for grad programs so I got to see a lot of the undergrad/grad parts of each school. I think greek life isn't only the easy way to meet people, but a great way. I was always opposed to all things Greek, but now once I am done with my undergrad it was an amazing thing all around. I know Fraternities get the BS of being a "frat", but it is much more. FIU has a decent sized greek life from what I just looked up and a lot of national fraternities (which is good). But honestly some may disagree on here, but until you go greek you do not know. You will have great friendships, experience, and opportunities. Just when you rush a fraternity don't just the first one, look into the one you think you fit into best. It seems like you really want to go to FIU too... I think if you really want to go there you should go for it.
August 4, 200817 yr Funny that you ask about the communications program. In my opinion the program is probably the worst at FIU. I used to be a journalism major, now I just minored in it.. They constantly change admission policys, atleast once every semester. And right now they are focusing on nothing but there new medical program which is taking away lot from other programs! Its all about the $$$$$$$$$. They have a decent track record but I know there are better out there.. Just not sure what you options are. I mean hey, my cousin graduated from FIU and had a full time job at the Palm Beach post... Im not telling you not to go there, you do what you want thats just my opinion. I mean I am a junior right now there.. But I really dont have any other options. It all depends on what you want and the options you have...
