Dontrelle Willis to be recalled September 1

3-4 with a 4.47 ERA and a .288 BAA in the minors.

The Tigers are hoping he'll agree to pitch in winter ball in the offseason.

How far has this guy fallen?

Pretty far. But it'll be quite a story if he is able to rehabilitate himself.

The old adage goes that too many cooks spoil the broth, and that is definitely the case with all of the pitching coaches that have tried to change his motion over the years.

what pitching style is he using now?

is it his high leg kick style that hes always had, or did he agree to rework his whole motion into a more conventional style?

High kick supppose to give him more velocity, but if his fastball only top 92 and not 97 back in 2004, then the high kick is useless for him except losing some control.

Yes he did, back around 2004. But his velocity drop down quickly as the game progress so you only see it during the 1st and 2nd inning. He's a gamer that like to take risks. I remember in 2007 when Willis was pitching against Barry Bonds who needed 1 more HR for the record, and Willis threw 97 against him. Of course he was throwing 92-93 for everyone else.

i really hope Dontrelle can perform at a decent standard once again at the Major League level

last time i saw him was against Cleveland and it was honestly disheartening to watch, even if he is on another team now

either you read wrong or the gun was wrong.

as was stated above, Dontrelle has never been able to hit 97. 94 was his max

Detroit tried to change his motion. Why would they do that? And our pitching coach tried to do the same last season, too. People don't understand that perhaps something is best alone if it works.

Clearly, he needs to have a motion like the one he had 03-05. f***ing with someone's motion is bound to mess them up.
