August 31, 200818 yr i say take taser out next year and put in andrew miller instead, whos with me? absolutely as recent as a couple of weeks ago i was of the opinion that keeping olsen would be a wise move however he just gives up too many runs these days and i am now on the andrew miller band wagon, who i like for his strikeout potential
August 31, 200818 yr Lame. And we still can't win two games in a row. To me that was the most frustrating thing about this past month. For all the blown saves and crappy situational hitting thats still the thing that burns my @$$ the most. Maybe they'll have a September to remember.
September 1, 200818 yr Olsen's trade value is plummeting. I rather doubt that. But if his trade value is sinking it is so minute as to not even be mentioned. Scotty has his good points and his bad points. He has come a long way as maturing as a pitcher, yet he gives up the long ball all too frequently. Shutting him down while we have young guys, guys that we want for our future, still pitching would be sending out the wrong message. Especially seeing we really aren't in this race for the division. If Scotty were to just continue the way he is right now, and the team actually plays well behind him offensively and defensively, it can help more than shutting him down right now. But it really won't matter in the long run. If we do trade him, and I think we will, no matter what we get in return it won't be enough for some. They will always say, "If we had just shut him down when I said......."
September 1, 200818 yr That first inning was such a tease. Great situational hitting led to 2 runs. Had us hoping it was a good sign. Blah after that. We hit rain as soon as we hit the Broward County line and it sure wasn't looking good for the game. I have no idea how all that rain missed us and we got the entire game in. And it was a great day for a game. Good to see Andrew back at the ball park. He looked real uncomfortable down in the Strike Zone doing the picture thing. Especially with the kiddies. And alot of them he didn't look much older than, just one heck of alot taller.
