November 4, 200817 yr 4.48 ERA in 122 minor league innings and he's 27? Bleh. Whatever. We have 4 MLB ready options in our organization that are left handed - Miller, Pinto, Tank, and now Meyer. Thompson and West are still aways. This is a solid signing, and those numbers could improve relieving. I'm hopeful we can sneak him through waivers after the Rule V draft as it's doubtful he can make the 25 man roster, but this is a very solid organizational signing that could pay off big.
November 4, 200817 yr It's amazing that he was a key to the Tim Hudson trade with the Braves. He stinks Lou.
November 4, 200817 yr It's amazing that he was a key to the Tim Hudson trade with the Braves. He stinks Lou. He does stink, but that's not the point. He is a LHP who is still relatively young with a small chance (increases now that he appears to be healthy for the first time in years) to put it back all together and become a valuable member of the team at absolutely no cost to the Florida Marlins. What's the problem?
November 4, 200817 yr http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?id=1948458 I found some old ESPN article that written by John Sickels.
