Am I the only one who knows anything about Bonafacio, am I the only one who actually did some research? This guy is going to pan out in the big leagues THIS YEAR, he is a beast in the base paths, he is a true contact hitter who was recently moved to the leadoff role but is catching on real quick. Only reason he batted so low was cause he was adjusting to his new role.

Ok this is getting annoying. There is some good peyote being sent around and I am not getting any of it. What gives?

Well Mr. McDonald am sorry that this prospect didnt come from the Yankees, where they would have wrote wonderful pieces on him.

Bonifacio is the best pure lead off hitter in the Diamondbacks organization, and he appears to be getting better. After an '04 campaign in which he stole 40 bases in 50 tries, but struck out 122 times in less than 500 at bats, and posted an on base percentage of just .306, the Diamondbacks sent him right back to Lo-A South Bend and asked him to come back in '05 ready to put the bat on the ball. The result: a .341 OBP, 32 fewer Ks in 111 more at bats, and 51 stolen bases. At Lancaster the mission statement is the same, strikeout less, walk more, but the Diamondbacks are very high on their top second base prospect, and Bonifacio has got to be excited that Justin Upton has moved to center field and not second base.

from Keith Law, ESPN

Emilio Bonifacio projects as a utility player because he can move around the infield, playing plus defense at second, and perhaps fill in as a center fielder due to his plus speed. However, he doesn't project to hit for much power and his instincts at the plate aren't good. Florida hasn't had much luck improving the plate discipline of its players, and that also doesn't bode well for an overaggressive hitter like Bonifacio.
