I need a 3.5 gpa in high school to go to um?

i had a 3.1 and was told i shouldnt even try well they look at a lot of things besides GPA... sports, clubs, other extracurrics, SATs, etc.

it never hurts to apply i had a 1040 i believe on my sats, i think the 2nd time was a little higher but i cant remember. nothing impressive.

i was never into any extracuricculars so i figured ill just apply to FIU and here i am 2 years later.

Man i wanna go to college to get a degree, and to let the scouts see me better at playing baseball, and after that i enter the baseball draft, even thugh i wouldn't be surprised to get drafted by my senior year.

i'm in 10th,and i'm good in baseball,i master in baseball.

if you're really good at baseball, you dont even have to do particularly well in HS and you're pretty much a lock.

if you're varsity but nothing special, i think you should probably work toward getting a 1200 on the SAT. 1200 SAT + 3.4 gpa + varsity baseball should be good enough.

you know all this already, but if you work hard, take a couple APs, and take a class for the SATs, you should be able to get into a pretty good school

What would you do if you get drafted

1.go to college

or

2.go str8 to the pros

Im not trying to be mean but cmon be realistic!! im not saying you suck but if you didnt even make JV how are you gonna think that scouts are going to look at you. i made JV and i am praying that happens to me. which it might happen but chances are its not that good of a chance.sorry man but stop talking crap. lol

I can see you don't have a 4.0 :lol

Well it depends.

My brother is a very good baseball player (won the Triple Crown as a freshman on JV last year, despite the fact that he was called up to Varsity half way through the season; hit over .600 on JV and over .500 on Varsity) and his plan is this:

1.) If he is offered a signing bonus over $750,000, he will go.

2.) If he is drafted in the top three rounds, he will go.

3.) If neither of those occur, he will go to UM and play his way into a higher signing bonus/draft status.

4.) If he doesn't play himself into a higher draft status, he'll stay his four years, get a degree, and sign with the team who drafts him after he graduates.

over .500 hundred batting average on varsity!

If you plan on getting drafted in the first 30 rounds, you better hit .500 on varsity. lol.

But that was just his freshman season. He's got 3 more years to improve upon a .513 varsity batting avg.

WOW thats being pretty cocky when u havent even made a high school team yet.

My god guys, let's be realistic

Willis#1 man, it's ok that you love baseball and you love to play it but your chances of even being drafted are miniscule, no offense or anything

and even if one does get drafted it's even HARDER to make it through the different levels of the minor leagues let alone the majors

you clods, its not about gpa. gpa is over rated, its bout SAT and extracurriculars.

now, im not sayingto have a 2.5

but

for exa, mple, ill take myself(no bragging)

i should/will be editor in chief of the newspaper, debate vp with 300 plus oints, fhsaa sid director, and over 300 community service hours and bieng officer of 2 other clubs.with that alone, and an 1100, ill dance my way into um

of course, im a gator/bull/hawkeye

baseball is a dirty sport, especially at hhs, i thought i was a stud in 9th grade

now im playing volleyball

lol

(iveplayed baseball there 2 years)
