New CF era in ATL?

Tigers acquired outfielder Josh Anderson from the Braves in exchange for RHP Rudy Darrow.

Parting with Anderson may open the door for prospect Jordan Schafer to be the Braves' starting center fielder, although going with Gregor Blanco in the short term remains an option. Anderson will be a bench player in Detroit, which is role that suits his speed-based skill set much better than regular playing time. Jeff Larish, Ryan Raburn and Brent Clevlen now appear to be out of luck as far as sticking with the Tigers. Darrow is a groundball pitcher with good numbers thus far, but spent most of last season as a 24-year-old at Single-A. He might have a future as a reliever.

Braves GM Frank Wren wasn't ready to name a starting center fielder following the trade of Josh Anderson to the Tigers.

"The center-field job is still open," Atlanta general manager Frank Wren said. "It will be hard to keep two. We knew we couldn?t keep all three." While Jordan Schafer is certainly the exciting fantasy prospect, it's not his job just yet. The Braves will likely give bench spots to Matt Diaz, Omar Infante, Martin Prado, Greg Norton and David Ross, leaving room for just one center fielder. It's still possible that Gregor Blanco will get the nod, with Schafer heading to Triple-A.

I think a year at AAA wouldn't do him any harm, but still only Gregor Blanco to beat.

I watched Jordan since high school, this kid is the real deal, some AAA time probably wouldn't have hurt him but he appears ready to rise to the occasion.

Was he juicing in high school?

if francouer has a comeback type year and schafer plays well their offense might be good enough to keep them into contention throughout because they have a solid rotation with lowe/vazquez/jurrjens/kawakami/hudson(injured)

Lowe is dealing and this schaffer kid looks like he's 17 bit he's hitting good. Doesn't look like heused hgh long cause he sure isn't big.
