Graham Taylor may pitch on Sunday against Phillies

Featured Replies

During the game today Burke was throwing in the bullpen. Could that mean that he is not going to pitch sunday?

He was just getting work in.

Oh, he is just working on his fitness. Pumping some iron :weightlift .

Yes Taylor is getting the nod on Sunday.

Called it!

Hopefully he can shutdown the lefthanded power bats in Utley, Howard and Ibanez and maybe even picth a quality start.

I guess Beinfest wasn't just hiding that it was Pen or Hopper.

Not sure I'm real happy about this but at least it's not West.

40 man roster is now full. Davidson and Taylor take the last two spots, both of them lefties. I think this is pretty determinative they don't want to really touch West/Thompson just yet.

And it might as well be Graham. He's the oldest SP prospect in AAA/AA. He's not going to gain fastball speed, or develop a crazy breaking pitch. He is who he is, and probably doesn't need anymore time. This is the right choice from our minor leaguers, even if he doesn't have as much potential as other guys. Start with the oldest. Sinkbiel is next in line, then Trahern.

And just because we now have a full 40 and Taylor is the first one from the 2005 high school/2006 college class of players to get onto it, I want to mention the looming 40 man additions we're going to have after the year. Thompson, West, Winters, Morrison, Sinkbiel, Coghlan, Cousins, Raynor, and Ceda(I think) all are going to be joining Taylor at the end of the season on the 40. Some other maybes would be Burns, B. Davis, and Allison. New out of options players not firmly on the 25 man are Vanden Hurk, Carroll, Tank, and C. Martinez.

Roster turnover is going to be pretty intense in November.
