It's as if the Zephyrs players said enough is enough. Z's win 11-2

When are going to just bring up Gaby Sanchez already? I really think that Emilio's success against LHP is holding him back. But I'd rather have Gaby on the roster than Brett Carroll. Our outfield is very good defensively even without him in there, and he adds almost nothing otherwise. Besides Hermida/Maybin/Ross, we also have Gload who can play the corners, Bonifacio who can play RF, and Amezaga who can play everywhere. That's plenty of OFs, especially when you throw in that Cody can easily man CF. Sure we have a lot of depths at the corners, but Gaby is so much better than Brett Carrol.

The only significant argument I see against this is that you might want Gaby to continue starting everyday in order to further his development. But he's already 26, and he's hitting pretty darn well in AAA (albeit a small sample). I personally think it's time.

You're forgetting what really matters.

If Gaby is going to be good, the Marlins delay arbitration a full year by calling him up mid-June versus right now. This is literally a $2 million dollar decision for 6 weeks of replacing Brett Carroll.

Ah, Lou puts me in my place. Forgot about the arbi clock. Yeah, the advantages are not worth the cost at all. Especially while EB is riding this wave against LHP (although that can't last). But if he continues this pace, then whenever that day in June roles around, I'd like to see Carroll optioned and Gaby in his place. But I'll be patient :thumbup
