May 4, 200917 yr I just went to all 4 Wrigley games (my 1st time). Great weather and atmosphere- right there with Boston and Fenway. Anyway, I was surprised to see a few Marlins fans. I got to shake Greg Maddux's hand today. Many Cubs fans were awesome and knowledgable. I barely got heckled and when I did I gave it back to them by saying "2003" and "1908". Couple of things I noticed..... 1) Our defense is stellar this year and much improved! 2) Hanley and Uggla were both not 100% which really affected our lineup. Others had to step up- Hermida is still not clutch. Bonfacio is not a good hitter at all- will develop into a very good utility guy. 3) Nolasco doesn't look too good- especially when the count reaches 3 balls- he always gives in instead of walking a few. 4) This series was a chance for Paulino, Gload, and Helms to step up and neither did. 5) Other than Volstad and Johnson, I'm a little concerned with our rotation. All in all, I think the Cubs and Dodgers are the 2 best teams in the NL. I think the Fish will be fine and will make a run at the postseason this year.
May 4, 200917 yr I got to shake Greg Maddux's hand today. How could you? He was a Marlins nemisis. :mad Did you sit in the Bartman seat? A Marlins fan in the Bartman seat. You probably wouldn't have survived 1 inning. :lol

Our defense is stellar this year and much improved! Did you go to the same series at Wrigley field that I went to? I thought our defense looked horrific. If you mean Amezaga's defense was stellar then I agree. Cameron Maybin got horrible jumps in center field on balls that should have been easily caught. In fact if he catches a ball in Badenhop's inning the grand slam never gets hits because there would have been three outs. Gload in right field dropping a line drive that either scored a run or attributed to one scoring (can't remember). Dan Uggla at second base fielding slow rollers, or fielding period is a joke. Amezaga is the best defender on the team-he makes any play that Hanley and Uggla make look twice as easy. Our offense is a total joke. I was amazed to see how many fly balls these guys hit. Uggla tries to hit a homerun every single time. He simply sucks and his numbers say it all right now. Bonificio sucks as he is a sure out most of the time. Jeremy Hermida is terrible. On Saturday he got the golden sumbraro (sp.) striking out 4 times and looking really really really bad. I hope something changes soon because this team looked terrible in Chicago.

Hermida diving catch. Amezaga is amazing with 2 Top 10 plays in the same game. Helms diving double play stab. Bonifacio looked good. Cantu 2 great stabs. Our defense was our brightest thing this series. I wish we could learn how to hit though. Bases juiced with no outs and we only got one because Hermida goes up to the plate like a scared little minor leaguer.

Because not many would choose Pinto.
May 4, 200917 yr I was at the games on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. I was sportin' a Marlin shirsey each day. Overall, I didn't get heckled too bad. I was sitting on the infield for all of the games, though. In my Wrigley experiences, I find that the more intelligent and good natured fans are usually in the regular seats, and the yahoos are all out in the bleachers. I think it would've been a different experience had I been in the bleachers. I was getting heckled about my Cantu shirt on Thursday night right before he hit the home run, that was pretty funny. The guy was being good natured about it, just having fun. One Cub fan even complimented my shirt, said "He's a hell of a good player." On Friday and Sunday I was wearing my old Beckett shirsey. (My girl went with me on Sunday, and she wore the Cantu shirt.) I thought it was kinda funny, because most people just looked suprised when they saw a Marlins shirt. Just wish the outcome was different on Fri. - Sun.

BTW, Denise Richards is very hot in real life.
May 4, 200917 yr I got to shake Greg Maddux's hand today. Never wash it. I would give anything to be able to talk pitching with The Professor.

Any good defensive left fielder makes that play and probably not diving. Amezaga could make those plays night in and night out, yes, he is that good and those plays were awesome. I didn't see Helms' plays. I thought Boni looked terrible both defensively and offensively. Example, he hardly got on base and looked silly striking out, oh, and on defense when Zambrano showed bunt and Boni showed no respect so Zambrano bunted it to him and he no play. Boni had no shot on the second bunt either then an error by Gload and what do you know Lee hits a grand slam. After all this looking back now you are right our defense was the brightest spot. We had no pitching and certainly no offense. It was my first time at Wrigley and I enjoyed the heck out of it.
