November 11, 200322 yr This guy is calling on the Marlins management to make the right move and trade away Juan Pierre. His idiocy has reached new heights. He says that the numbers are what makes the player and that Juan Pierre just dosent put up any numbers. We'll I will let the numbers speak for themselves. Over .300 hitter Only 35 strike outs during the regular season. More than four times less than what our last center fielder had. 65 Stolen base. This guy turns s single into a double. Not to mention all headaches that he causes we he is on the basepaths. 200+ hits. Only a handful of players did that this year. Does leretard know anything about baseball? :confused
November 11, 200322 yr Author I say if we go to the playoffs next year juan pierre should throw 10 buckets of freezing water on this idiot if he's in the clubhouse.
November 11, 200322 yr This is much to do about nothing. Two guys with too much time on their hands and an editor without an ounce of creativity. Pierre isn't about to be traded under any circumstances, he's become an icon in South Florida and so don't waste your breath.
November 11, 200322 yr It's his assertion that the Marlins should trade him now "while his value is at his highest." First of all, I don't think teams would really be offering the farm for this guy. He'll never put up the pretty OBP/OPS stats they love to see. Second of all, he doesn't free up much money really. Aside of starting a rookie in center field, a decent replacement out there is going to cost just as much. He's correct that Castillo does the on-base-% thing better than Pierre does. But next year Castillo will likely make OVER TWICE the salary JP will make. You want to pay 7 million for a leadoff hitter LeBatard, be my guest. In one paragraph he talks about how important it is to save money to retain the pitching staff, yet he doesn't seem to mind dumping your leadoff hitter & using another one at twice the price. Keep adding to your stack of wonderful ideas on the Marlins Dan. File this one somewhere in between Pudge being a waste of money & McKeon being a ridiculous choice for manager. You've built quite a reputation lately & I'd hate for you to ruin it with a reasonable thought.

Yeah....this may not be what he necessarily thinks....he may have been given this assignment by the editor who said "Cote is doing the cons to trading Pierre, you do the pros".
November 11, 200322 yr Yeah....this may not be what he necessarily thinks....he may have been given this assignment by the editor who said "Cote is doing the cons to trading Pierre, you do the pros". And they wonder why nobody is reading the Miami Herald anymore :mischief2
November 11, 200322 yr I posted on this a while ago... Le Retard, idiot. heh, Does Le Retard still has a job in the Herald?
