November 23, 200916 yr Can someone please confirm the rumor that the Marlins are in on the Mike Gonzalez sweepstakes? Heard it on the baseball network channel. I have Time Warner cable here in Charlotte North Carolina in case that makes a broadcasting difference.
November 23, 200916 yr I highly doubt it, the Marlins have never been big about going after big name and more importantly, expensive, relievers. He's going to command quite a bit of money on the market and doesn't fit the usual type of relievers they go for.
November 23, 200916 yr No chance we sign a reliever for the money he will command. This doesn't fit our budget.
November 24, 200916 yr If we are going after a reliever but we don't want to add more money to a JJ deal, then I would seriously be disappointed.
November 24, 200916 yr If we are going after a reliever but we don't want to add more money to a JJ deal, then I would seriously be disappointed. My understanding with JJ is we dont want to add a fourth year. Which if thats the case, isn't unreasonable.

November 28, 200916 yr awesome stance before he delivers and capable of saving games especially with all the lefties in the NL East. but he would cost too much and the marlins have had success with players looking to rebuild stock
