This older article about Aroldis Chapman is pretty funny... http://www.theonion.com/content/news_briefs/dusty_baker_destroys

Now around the halfway point, it looks like Aroldis Chapman could be the real deal. Why the Reds have a guy whose managerial style when it comes to young pitchers is more in line with managers two generations ago is beyond me. Here is the latest bit of Dusty Baker baseball wisdom:

"I doubt they even had a pitch count" in Cuba, Baker said. "That's very important. Sometimes you can under-pitch a guy if he's used to throwing. I see him out there throwing long-toss. He throws every day. This winter was probably the longest he's been off in his whole career. You just hope you don't un-train him."

Paging Dr. Andrews...

I feel bad for Aroldis Chapman. He's under the infamous "Pitcher Killer" coach in Dusty Baker. He'll have plenty of shoulder/arm/elbow surgery before he's done with the Reds.

i hope he will be okay

RIP Kerry Wood and Mark Prior... :confused

I remeber the days where it was scary to face the Cubs when they had Wood, Prior Matt Clement and Zambrano going one after another then the year later they added Maddux to that roatation and D Lee to the lineup and they we're definite World Series Favorites.

LOL @ DUSTY BAKER! IM CUBAN, ARE WE SUPPOSE TO BE ANIMALS? :banghead

The Zambrano, Prior, Maddux, Wood, Clement rotation with Dempster, Farnsworth, and LaTroy in the 'pen.

Alou, Sosa, Lee, Ramirez, Nomar, and Todd Walker with the bats.

We were loaded with stars in 2004. That was the year that should have been for the Cubs, even more so than 2003... Now I may have to wait 100 more years for a team like that to happen again for us.. :confused
