  1. Braves want to win this year for Cox... I wouldn't be surprised if there was a few more deals like this.
  2.  Mediocre free agents isn't really the problem (aside from Bradley).  The problem is that they signed guys to very long contracts that they cannot get rid of and they have gotten old (Lee, Ramirez, Soriano), and their minor league system has failed to produce suitable replacements.  And Zambrano is obviously a huge disapointment as well, but any GM would have signed a guy with that sort of talent to a long term contract. THIS.
  3. Â Â Lol you guys clearly don't know anything about Chicago sports fans... The cubs have not won in over 100 years now, and they are still the most popular team in Chicago.... Everyone still wears their cubs stuff with pride, and they still sell out every single game... Chicago is plenty used to this bs the Cubs pull every year... Remember folks, "The lovable losers" was practically our official motto in the 90's and early 2000's... Trust me, Chicago cares about the Cubs... About double the fan base of the white sox. As for Z, I say trade him if there is a team stupid enough to take him, if not, I think its time to just waive/cut his sorry ass... He's not a has been, he is a never was, who had a few moments of brilliance a few years ago... Â Z is another one of Jim Hendry's brilliant contracts... Thanks to him we are stuck with Ramirez, Lee, Z, and Soriano for years to come, all with huge contracts. Also, I hate to say it, but it's time for Lou to retire.
  4. Awesome video. Much better than a meh.
  5. RIP. Greatest Coach in the History of Sports. +1
  6. I feel terrible for Jim Joyce. He has been a really good ump for 20 years now, and this will be his legacy. Every single ump in the bigs makes a bad call every now again again, he wasn't just going to call him out even if it was close, he has more respect for the game and the feat to do that. He thought he was safe on a judgement call, he wasn't. Joyce feels terrible for it, and I feel terrible for him. Joyce wasn't trying to be a dick or anything, he was trying to make the correct call each time. He missed this one, its unfortunate, but I will tell you Joyce feels MUCH worse than Gallaraga does this morning. Please, MLB, no suspension. The man has already had his punishment, this may haunt him for many years.
  7. 3) Pregnancy: Now imagine having to put that same start center fielder on the 60-Day DL with "pregnancy". And seeing as the off season is only 4.5 months (3.5 for playoff teams) a woman would never be able to start a family without ending up on the DL. 4) Locker rooms: This is really the big one. There will never be split locker rooms and teams in general won't want women in their locker rooms. From men feeling uncomfortable to sexual harassment, it's just a terrible thing. THESE. The locker room one is a VERY good point. I just don't see it happening. The ONLY way I could see it is if the woman has an amazing knuckleball, or another pitch that almost no other human, male or female, can throw correctly and accurately.. My biggest concern is that we will have a situation like what professional auto racing experiances where a woman is in the pros just because she is a woman, and the team is looking to sell tickets and fill the grandstands, not because she is skilled enough to be there. (See: Shawna Robinson, Tina Gordon)
  8. RIP... Very sad to see both of them pass.
  9. Well my post got deleted but the point still stands. He's a troll and people have been banned here for the same exact thing. Oh my god quit being a baby. I found his posts funny. Thanks, Cubs fan. Not a problem, Marlins fan. No rule here that you must be a Marlins fan. I have never been a "troll" or whatever. I just enjoy these forums, and I do like the marlins, even though they are not my favorite team.... You've never seen me post a thread like "Hanley Sucks" or "Marlins blow!" or anything, I just enjoy these forums more than I enjoy the other baseball forums. Good smart group of baseball fans. For the most part.

  11. Steve Bartman SIGH!
  12. I'm shocked Mr. Marlin Pride didn't make a thread saying we should sign him Douche!
  13. Gregg will blow up soon. Give him 3 weeks and he will be back to his old self.
  14. The change means, for example, that if a player makes a taunting gesture to an opponent on the way to scoring a touchdown, the flag would nullify the score and penalize the offending team from the spot of the foul. Penalties for dead-ball misconduct fouls (for example, unsportsmanlike behavior after the player crosses the goal line) would continue to be assessed on the ensuing kickoff or the extra point/two point conversion attempt. Imagine if this rule is used after a team just scored the winning touchdown in a BCS game, this rule is terrible.
  15. I think this will hurt the Dolphins more than help them to be honest. I, as a Kyle Orton fan, am SO glad that Marshall is out of Denver. I see the Dolphins going 7-9 next year, just no way to compete with the Jets and the Patriots, too many holes. One of the worst posts in the history of the board. If you would open your eyes and not be such a damn homer you would realize that the Broncos were a much more complete team last season with Marshall then you are this season, and they could only go 8-8. He was not worth any more than one (1) second round pick, and he is not even close to worth the money. Talent wise he is, but a lot of players could be great if only talent mattered. Its time to open your eyes, the Dolphins are going to sell tickets with this trade, but that is it. You guys are blinded by the light that you got a VERY talented wideout, and I understand the excitement that at least your team is trying to compete with the elite Jets and Patriots, but on paper right now I just can't see it. gtfo. seriously. there's the door. If they go over .500 (9-7 or better) next season I will delete my account and leave the boards forever. Mark it down.

  17. Does anyone know where I can buy a Miami Marlins throwback jersey? Marlins en Miami doesn't have them, the Marlins online store doesn't have them, and i've searched Google and couldn't find anything.  So any help in tracking down a store that sells these would be greatly appreciated . http://www.onlinesports.com/pages/I,EFF-MIA57H.html http://www.ebbets.co...BaseballJerseys Wow a little late, bud.
  18. The cubs making the W.S. this year is almost as laughable as the Marlins making the playoffs. Nothing is quite as laughable as 102 years of failure and counting, though. Last time the Cubs won the World Series: There were 46 states in the Union Theodore Roosevelt was President Oil was first discovered in the middle east The first Model T Ford was produced The first fatal plane crash happens The Boy Scouts were founded Next time the Cubs will win the World Series: America will have 62 states, expanding into the Middle East and half of Mexico George Bush's great granddaughter will be President Salt Water will be the prime source of fuel in the world Flying cars will be available to the average family The first fatal tourist space shuttle crash will have happened (in a galaxy that has not yet been discovered) The Boy Scouts will probably still be around.. I found this post hilarious :notworthy If I'm gonna dish it out in a marlins baseball forum I gotta be able to take the Bartman stuff...  We are the Lovable losers.
  19. Mets/Yankees or Cubs/Whitesox arn't listed, yet I think those are both above everything listed.

  21. Homerific picks guys.... Everyone taking Hanley to win mvp, come on. Not taking anything against him, hes a great player, but he will not even be in the top 5 in mvp voting... Mark it down... And the beating out some of the teams you guys have missing the playoffs for the wildcard is laughable, but I will issue a pass on those homerific picks because this is a marlinsbaseball forum. Notice I didn't pick the cubs to make the playoffs, I would love for them to, but I am realstic enough to know they won't.

  23. He's under the infamous "Pitcher Killer" coach in Dusty Baker. RIP Kerry Wood and Mark Prior... :confused I remeber the days where it was scary to face the Cubs when they had Wood, Prior Matt Clement and Zambrano going one after another then the year later they added Maddux to that roatation and D Lee to the lineup and they we're definite World Series Favorites. The Zambrano, Prior, Maddux, Wood, Clement rotation with Dempster, Farnsworth, and LaTroy in the 'pen. Alou, Sosa, Lee, Ramirez, Nomar, and Todd Walker with the bats. We were loaded with stars in 2004. That was the year that should have been for the Cubs, even more so than 2003... Now I may have to wait 100 more years for a team like that to happen again for us.. :confused

Brady Quinn Vs. Kyle Orton will have a QB battle of the CENTURY to deside who will start for the AFC elite Denver Broncos. I don't think it matters who wins, the Broncos are not going to be a .500 team this season. I think Orton will win the job, but it will be close.
