May 15, 201016 yr The sad thing is that Hank Blalock has been raking in AAA, and he's being promoted to take Burrell's place. I'm sure he's mostly going to be a DH, but I hope the Marlins didn't miss out on a bat off of the bench.
May 17, 201016 yr I'm shocked Mr. Marlin Pride didn't make a thread saying we should sign him Thats so dick. First of all I just post guys that could possibly help like Scott Downs, Kiko Calero or Ryan Garko which i asked if we should sign. I do feel that it would benefit the marlins if they signed Calero and Downs to minor league contracts because there pitchers who have had success and we need relievers pretty badly. (Don't know if you we're joking or just beeing a doucher but that's my input.) Burrell has just been awful since he was on the World Series Phillies team in 08 and I wouldn't fin it surprising if he doesn't find a job in the MLB.
May 17, 201016 yr I'd rather have Pat Burrell than Garko. When was Scott Downs available and in the position to be signed to a minor league deal? Didn't he sign a three year deal in 2008? Also, I think Calero is pretty worthless at this point.

Calero could be a good signing to a minor league contract and if he gets back to form in ample appearances in the minors. I'd rather just stick to what we have rather then Burrell and Garko.

Are you talking about the Blue Jays' Scott Downs??? When did this happen?
May 17, 201016 yr Ahhhh f*** me, I got the names confused. I meant Scott Lewis of the Indians! :banghead I got the two confused because I have Scott Downs in a fantasy league. Sorry for Misleading you guys :confused
May 17, 201016 yr Well, Lewis has been having a ton of arm troubles recently, so that's probably why he was let go. I'd rather the Marlins give minor league contracts to guys with potential to be reclamation arms, rather than virtually guaranteed injury risks in guys like Calero or Lewis. A team that needs relievers badly shouldn't be assembling a stockpile of damaged goods. I don't know what Burrell's deal is, but his track record with the Phillies was strong enough that some team will eventually grab him.

May 18, 201016 yr I'd take him, be a hell of a bat off the bench if he can look anything like he did in Philly and we wouldn't have to pay him jack.
May 21, 201016 yr I'd take him, be a hell of a bat off the bench if he can look anything like he did in Philly and we wouldn't have to pay him jack. Wouldn't necessarily be a great move, this has been practically a full season of sub .700 OPS play from him and I can't imagine part-time play helping that any
