May 6, 201016 yr I'm pretty sure we only have 39 on the 40 man right now. There's room for whoever we want to put on, and we could always waive a Brett Sinkbeil if we really need room. I thought he had to add Raynor to our 40 man. I think that only applies if someone else had claimed him off waivers. I don't think we have to put him back on the 40.
May 6, 201016 yr I knew the Meintkiewicz family years ago when I was going to the U of Miami Hurricanes games. I thought for sure little Doug would be a Cane. Instead he found himself in Trailerhassee as a Semi-Whole. Oh well we all can't be College World Series winners. :thumbup
May 6, 201016 yr I'm guessing you have won as many college world series as him. Sure I have, I was a Sugar Cane from 1979 to 1982, doesn't that count ? :mischief
May 6, 201016 yr Ten bucks says BroncoBob uses this as an example of the Marlins being unhappy with Gaby. Considering that Mientkiewicz is a glove man, I'd like to get in on that too. Pay up. Unlike most of the posters on here, I believe the Marlins (front office and coaching staff) actually knew Gaby didn't bring much glove to the majors. They accepted that fact , as have I, because he had the better bat and Logan was no where near ready with his bat. Proof of that? They keep his bat in the line up until we need defense at 1B, then he sits. More "proof"? Even you guys are admitting in other threads that Gaby dosen't have very good defense. And yet because I was the only one that stuck to my beliefs through two STs and the start of this season saying he wasn't as advertised defensively, you guys still want to get on my case? Okay. Bring it. I find it very comedic.
