November 18, 200322 yr not a bad move for either team. They got rid of long who is horrendous especially in the stat of OBP which is beanes favorite. He had an OBP of .293 and Kotsay had .343 not great but not bad. But Ramon Hernandez is a stud so I think Padres come out on top in this one. Doesnt Oakland have a kid named Jeremy Brown in the minors at catcher. :thumbup
November 18, 200322 yr oakland is dumb... long =kotsay and ramon > kotsay.. what dumies antoher example why billy beane is overated and that Sabean is much better. Sabean does the Nathan/ Pierzynski traded and Beane trades Hernandez and Long for Kotsay. Beane's good at choosing who to draft. That makes him a good talent scout. Not a good GM.
