Redsox Sign Carlos Delgado, Mets Release Alex Cora

Featured Replies

With the injuries to Kevin Youkilis the Red Soxs sign Carlos Delgado to a Minor League Deal.

Mets release Alex Cora so he could not invoke his Veteran Option in 2011 for 2M. Cora only needed to play 18 more games to envoke the option. Mets call up Robinson Tejada and Fernando Martinez.

Weird move by the Red Soxs but they were looking for another lefty bat and if he gets to form could platoon with Lowell at 1st.

Cora being released was just a money thing and they really aren't going to need him with slim chances in getting to the playoffs.

Who Boston?

Yeah they probably will, they've had way to many injuries to key players.

I still think if they had guys like Youkilis, Laser Show, Jacoby and Beckett all season then they'd be ahead in the AL East.

They'll still miss the playoffs.

They can blame Adrian Beltre, how many outfielders has he put on the DL this season with broken ribs? Of course one of those was, the man made of glass Hermida, but still Ellsbury was a big blow.

Good to see Carlos on the comeback trail!!!

Hopefully he can help the Red Sox knock the Rays out.

Much rather see him knock Yuckees out :thumbup

But then we won't have a possible Yankees-Red Sox ALCS :(
