lol apparently I havent heard the tale...

I’ve heard there is an alligator living at Lake Claire. Is this true?

• Yes, there is at least one alligator living in Lake Claire. It is estimated to be 4-5 feet in length and is frequently seen swimming in the lake. Should you see an alligator while on the shore or from a boat, do not approach it, harass it, or feed it. We ask that users respect all wildlife living in the Lake Claire Recreational Area.

It's no big deal though. I've been canoeing, kayaking, and even swimming in that lake with no occurrence of it. But I know some people who have seen it before.

Lol 4-5 feet..

I was expecting something huge. I thought it was like a folk legend or something haha...

Yeah I've been canoeing with aligators before, and my lake behind my house had a gator on the shore one day just hanging out sunbathing... I know this because I used to walk home from the bus in middle school way back when... when one day it was staring me in the face blocking my path. Yeah, scary.

Cool. I grew up East of 95 so I never had the pleasure of Alligators in my back yard.

hehe like the Lake Claire Monster or something? People mysteriously disappear there...be careful! :p We used to live by a lake that had an alligator in it a few times also, but never had one cross my path. That would be scary.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm really bummed by this yawner of a hurricane season. I was really excited for that tropical storm that was supposed to come through last week. Then it veered away at the last minute.:mad I'm gonna be careful what I wish for though. Wouldn't want a Cat 5 to come through next year.:o

I share the same kind of liking for storms as you. I mean, I in no way want a storm to come through here and destroy Florida, but there is something about the awesome power of a hurricane.... it's so interesting and almost fun to experience.

Of course the following two weeks is never fun.
