December 7, 201015 yr Would anyone else be excited if the Marlins went after Nady? He has a history of signing 1 year deals at reasonable price. We could ad him to the OF (or even try him out at 3B) and shift Coghlan to the infield. Then if the price is right, we could trade Gaby Sanchez which would then give the team tremendous flexibility. LoMo could play 1B and Nady LF or vice-versa. Just wondering how others think about this since I haven't heard anyone talk about this at all.
December 7, 201015 yr He isn't a 3B or CF or is a lefty. Cousins or Petersen could probably replicate his last year's mid .600 OPS. Just not the right guy for the Marlins.

I really with we would have kept Ross Gload. Blagh! How would getting a 32 year old going nowhere allow us to trade Gaby, still under 30 and still with the potential to get better? Unless we're trading Gaby for something younger, I wouldnt waste our goods.

As Spring Training nears it's end, and as the season takes it's casualties, teams might be looking for someone at 1B. That would allow us to trade Gaby high and get some good return for him, ala someone younger. I personally believe LoMo is (and should be) the future at 1B anyways. If we can get a young prospect at CF, it would make it much easier to pull the trigger if we had Nady (a veteran who knows how to get on base).
