Would Loria have gone after Francona?

Featured Replies

If he didn't get Ozzie? It goes without saying that we'd want him, unless you actually blame him for the Red Sox's collapse and that tarnished his value to you.

Im sure he would have been interviewed but i would bet we still went with Ozzie. Not my preference but thats probably what would have happened.

Then again who would have really thought Tito would be gone. I sure as hell didnt.

MAYBE an interview. But I think Bobby V was next on the list.

I don't think Tito has the fire to put his foot where needed on some of these guys from time to time. The Marlins apparently were looking for a firey personality, and I just don't think he has what they were looking for.

It's funny that they keep "interviewing" Bo to satisfy the totally ridiculous and idiotic minority recruitment rule.

He had plenty of "fire" when it came to hustling chicks in the 3B stands. Isn't that enough?

:lol

On another coaching note, one day after Freddi said that all ATL coaches would return next year, the ATL FO fired Parrish. Oops.

Shades of Mallee. Gotta have a scapegoat. Of course, if Struggla had hit more than .233 and OPSed more than .764 for his 12 million, Parrish would still be coaching ATL in the play-offs. Thanks, Dan!

"Ridiculous" and "idiotic" is a very tame way of describing that rule. But we will run with it.

But I think you guys had him pegged wrong with the 3B thing. He seemed pretty much like a family man to me. And while those rumors started flying, he and his wife were trying to finalize an adoption in Texas. I remember him having to leave for a couple days during the season to do that. But then, he wasn't very well liked around here, so negative rumors would be the norm.
