December 23, 201114 yr I'm not originally from here so I only had the chance to attend one event at the Orange Bowl (an FIU game....so I was able to park at the stadium), therefore I don't have a very intimate knowledge of the neighborhood parking scene around the stadium for events. Which street's residents will most likely offer parking on their property? The area north of NW 7th Street seems to offer easy access to the Dolphin. The areas to the east and south of the stadium seem to consist of more multi family units with fewer large lawns to offer spots. What info would you guys have for someone like me. On a side note, I was recently looking for news on transportation for Marlins games. There are some sites that have posted articles on the topic in the last couple of months but nothing concrete. As I understand it the new garages will offer about 5,000 spots but those are going toward players, employees, and seasons ticket holders. Public transit links are still up in the air. The neighborhood parking scene seems like the best option for fans that intend to go to a bunch of games without buying parking in the stadium lots. Thanks in advance for any input.

Well, all anyone can go on is past history. For years I attended dolphin and cane games without having a ticket for the parking lots, when there were consistently 75,000 people. If you got there an hour or 1 1/2 hrs before the game, you could find spots on people property. I used to also park a few blocks south on Flagler st, where businesses would sell spaces. Over the years, people were always nice and usually, you would try to park at the same house. Actually, friendships developed and people cared and watched your car. OK, it is Christmas and that is a nice story, but true. Bottom line, I cannot go to every game, and won't spend $ 1200 for the garages, but I feel that with only 37,000 people, parking should be easier than it was for football. I would look south and east of the stadium.
December 23, 201114 yr Author Thanks. Did some blocks embrace the "come park on my yard" vibe more than others? I would think some people love it and others are bothered by all the activity. It will be interesting to see how the week night games compare to the weekend games. On one hand you'll have fewer fans parking on weeknights but also probably fewer houses looking to park cars too.
December 27, 201114 yr For football, I always had good luck directly west of the stadium. Most houses a block or two west of 17th Avenue would have a kid out there with a flag waving you in. It's easy (tax-free) money for those working-class homeowners (or renters). I'd expect to pay $5-7 within a 4 block walk, but supply/demand will of course prevail. Oh, & beware being blocked in - you might pay a premium for "no blockee" spaces.
