New Stadium Food Concessions

Featured Replies

What's our current status on specific concessions that are to be available.

Time is getting near, only 6 weeks away.

It takes some time to install custom concessions.

What do we know we're getting so far on opening day, beyond hot dogs(I assume)?

The only thing for sure is Sir Pizza and a "Taste of Miami" food court in the OF concourse that will feature latin cuisine, sushi and seafood. I bet the arepas stands will move over, and I wouldn't be surprised if we see more Kosher.

Taste of Miami Food Court: Latin American Grill, Pap Llega Y Pon and Don Camaron.

West Plaza: La Baguette, Holiday Bakery and YoBlendz (and one more to be named very soon).

That's all I know...

You could add "Levy's Restaurant" (kosher) to the list.

They're looking for some employee's so if anyone needs a part time job see the link. ;)

The one off Stirling or Sheridan or whatever? That's awesome. That place actually makes good sandwiches. My in-laws will be happy. And my Rabbi, too, since he's a big fan of the team.

I believe this is the same Levy's concession company that operates at numerous ballparks, including Joe Robbie. In other words, it's garbage.....not some branch of the Levy's in Hollywood...that would be good.

I also read about the Taste Of Miami concept and the 3 concessionaires mentioned. Still, as I say, time is growing short. Construction, zoning approval after each step. I'll sort of believe it when I see it on Opening day.

I just checked and Levy's isn't the concession company for Sun Life(sic). I believe Levy's used to operate there for years. Nothing special, though maybe they have different quality grades available. Now that the Marlins have control, they may choose to upgrade. We can hope.

I sort of think it's gonna' take a year or 2 to get all the interesting concessions going though.....judging by the lack of word on restaurants signing on. Think how long it would take for a restaurant to open from scratch in your neighborhood. 6 weeks away now. I'm excited, but not about the food.

Yeah, that makes sense.

It would be nice to get a big pastrami sandwich at the ballgame, though, I'm not going to lie :lol

You aren't kidding, that would be amazing. I would actually buy ballpark food for a change.

For me, the food at a ballpark is at the least one of the things I think about when deciding whether to spend the day/night at a game. Though I have sat through many Marlins games in the past knowing the food options were terrible and overpriced. At the new stadium, I am expecting that eventually there will be a place to get a good hot pastrami sandwich, and a place for all kinds of good Cuban food and seafood and other options. Cuban sandwiches, arepas, and a pastrami sandwich all work for ballpark food. Other options I've seen...a lobster roll, filet and shrooms from outback in Tampa works good.

I'm optimistic in the long run. You never know Admin what you're gonna' run into. I recall when dumpy Shea Stadium opened and throughout the 60's...they had lousy food but a really good fried chicken concession out in right field.
