Hotcorner
Should be finalizing minor league rosters soon... Will be catching lots of Suns games this season despite the (likely) lack of prospects unfortunately. Hoping for some promotions from the Hammerheads... fanofthefish
The Marlins high Class A affiliate, the Jupiter Hammerheads, should be interesting to watch. When outfielder Christian Yelich joins the team( starting the year on the DL ), the club will feature six of the the organization’s Top 10 prospects. Joining Yelich will be outfielder Marcell Ozuna, catcher J.T. Realmuto, lefthanders Chad James and Rob Rasmussen, as well as second baseman Noah Perio.(James and Rasmussen return) CanesCop, at least you'll have last years first round pick to watch this year as Jose Fernandez will join the Grasshoppers, Fernandez only pitched four innings after signing last year, so a full-season assignment is one of the most aggressive placements for an organization that was mostly conservative with its promotions. Others in Greensboro are several draftees from last June including Charlie Lowell, Daniel Oliver, Ryan Rieger and Josh Adams. Jacksonville's roster isn't set but it appears Kyle Jensen will at least start the season there.
fanofthefish
No big surprises here, some like Rowand and Torres were covered. Released: RHP Tom Boleska, RHP Jose Rosario, RHP Chase Wier, LHP Ken Toves, C Gregg Glime, 2B Ryan Curry, 2B Jim Negrych, 3B Michael Camp, 3B Terry Tiffee, SS Jose Torres, OF Marquise Cooper, OF Jorge Padilla, OF Aaron Rowand, OF Jeremy Synan The Marlins released Jose Torres, a July 2, 2007, signing, just prior to MLB's announcement that the shortstop had received a 50-game suspension. Marquise Cooper, a third-round selection in ’09, played linebacker in high school (Huntington Beach, Calif.) but never developed much feel for hitting. He batted .213/.337/.286 in 149 games at the lowest reaches of the Marlins system. Cooper, never produced but still a little surprise to see him released seeing he was that high a pick, will join Torre Langley and Jameson Smith as quicklly jettisoned number 3's for Marlins
