canes leave big east with one last crown

Featured Replies

4th straight big east title with a 28-14 win over pitt. they played a great game for the most part, moss and payton each ran for over 100 yards (although being pitt you expect it), very few penalties, berlin only through 1 pick and Fitzgerald got shut down with 3 catches that i can think of(1 td) and rutherford got killed (sacked repeatedly). Winslow only caught 1 pass, but he threw down some nasty blocks and contributed that way. im satisfied with the season, after the v.tech and tennessee losses im happy that they salvaged the season and got a conference title and a bcs trip.

I bet most teams wish they could "salvage" 10-2 seasons, win the conference title, and go to a bcs bowl in what IMO is a tweener year for the 'canes. They are unbelieveable.

some people make it sound like its the end of the world that we're not going for a national title

These people are morons.

You can't win EVERY game.

Idiots.

yep

GO CANES!!!! :thumbup

I'm happy that they were able to pull their selves back together after those 2 losses and now go on to a BCS.

i want a rematch of last year. Kellen " The F****** Soldier" Winslow vs The Ohio State Defense.

An interesting Factoid regarding this.

DJ Williams and Jonathan Vilma have completed the BCS bowl grand slam with the Sugar (2000) Rose (2001) Fiesta (2002) and now Orange (2003). I thought it was interesting. :thumbup

Idiots. AGREED :D

The 'Canes will be lucky to make it to Charlotte next December having to compete with Florida State, Maryland, Virginia Tech, NC State, Clemson and Virginia. And, they are slated to play five of those.

Idiots. I agree 100%.

Losing happens. Like the late Aaliyah used to say, "When at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again."

I hope the Canes shut the haters/non-believers up and show them who they are! GO CANES!

But the 'Canes should dominate the cream-puff division the ACC will be handing them in 2005 or 2006. Duke and North Carolina are in their division, along with Virginia Tech, Virginia and Georgia Tech. My Terps got completly stiffed. It's promising program that recently won the conference title but now plays in a division with four of the best six teams, themselves and Florida State, NC State and Clemson. Only Wake Forest is an easy win, and Boston College might be.

The ACC will be probably looking at two 'Canes-'Noles games a year, and only one BCS bowl berth. It makes absolutly no sense.
