Ruiz has been trying to play through the pain. But an MRI revealed that he has a partial tear and is expected to miss four to six weeks. He'll be re-evaluated in two weeks. This is just the latest setback for a Phillies team that has now put 17 different players on the DL. Ruiz was enjoying a breakout season, batting .313 with career highs in both home runs (14) and RBI (58) while posting a .959 OPS. Infielder Hector Luna has been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Phillies already have two other catchers, Brian Schneider and Erik Kratz, on the roster.
