Maybe Alex Sanabia will get his big shot in 2013

Maybe Alex Sanabia will get his big shot to show what he can do in the show in 2013. He has always looked pretty good to me whenever the Marlins gave him a chance to pitch.

YES. His numbers in his career are really not bad. He projects to have an K/9 ratio above 6.0 and a K/BB above 2.5. He doesn't give up many home runs. I think if we don't give everyone we have a shot we are wasting talent. Honestly I think we should also look at giving guys like Sean west an opportunity out of the pen, he isn't getting better at the starting role. Hell, I'd be willing to give Brad Hand a chance out of the pen, he has proven he can't start, but lets see if he can get outs.

We released west? Wasn't he a first round pick? Well in any event, If a pitcher can get outs without walking people or giving up the long ball at triple A regardless of ERA, I'd like to see 'em at the Majors.

Tom Koehler has been waiting for his shot (even just a pen shot) for three years.

How does a guy who had a sub 3 ERA and a 16-2 record as a 24 year old never get one? I know it's minor because he's probably not going to be a great player but to have one career start at 26 after what he did from 08-10 and to not get a shot on some of the teams we've fielded really is mind boggling to me.

I can't believe he's content with where he's at as a 26-year-old. I'd have requested a trade long ago.

3.04 FIPS in 2010

4.69 FIPS in 2011

3.77 FIPS in 2012

Yes he had a great 2010, and yes I understand that Fielding independent pitching is not perfect.(see Ricky Nolasco) but until last year he hadn't shown he could pitch at this level. 2010 was in the best pitchers league in the country and 2011 he was bad. So until last year he wasn't "ready". I honestly think he should get a shot, just the same as Sanabia. They appear to project to be similar pitchers.
