I take it there was NO rumor on the fish?>??????/??//

No -- it was all Tampa.

Only rumors floating around in prominence today involve Redman/Texas and of course all the Baltimore/Tejada/Lopez/Rodriguez chatter which we link to Florida/Guerrero. :)

Ok a few questions for whoever can answer or who wants to take a guess. Does anyone think Tejeda will make a decision on which team he'll be signing with by today? Another question is does anyone think the marlins can possibly get the Vlad rumor completed before the end of the winter meeting? And finally, When do the winter meetings end?

Just heard on MLB Radio (I think):

Orioles might be interested in signing both Rodriguez and Lopez, and putting one at catcher (probably Rodriguez) and one at DH.

This is definitely good for the Vlad front.

If they sign both Pudge and Lopez, they might not get either Vlad or Tejada.

The O's WILL offer Vlady a contract they'd be stupid not to. Wait does anyone know if they already have? I thought I heard they have and he declined( it could've been just the expos)but anyways if he declines an offer from them then he may want to sign with the fish who knows we shall see.

Yes, he was offered a deal either yesterday or Friday and I believe it was turned down.

Juanky does anyone know if the Marlins have offered him one yet? I bet if we offered him 12 mill a year with some of it backloaded he's sign. Marlins just need to offer him the contract so they can move on and not waste their time.

Marlins have NOT offered Guerrero a contract yet.

All I've read in print is they're investigating into his contract requirements and stuff.

No written word on an offer, but apparently they've done everything but.

What the heck are they waiting for my goodness. They know they can't offer what the O's will so they need to offer what they can and see if he bites. I think he wants to play for the fish, for some reason I feel it. Lets make a big splash NOW! c'mon Marlins

Jim Bowden on ESPN News just said that the O's are really close to signing both Pudge and Tejeda.

Awesome !! :w00t Go O's take Miguel and Pudge, That leaves Vlad and Lopez for us

If the Orioles sign Pudge and Miguel like Bowden says, the Orioles will no longers have an offer on the table, anyway.

Therefore sending him into the open arms of Miami, Florida.

Its a risky strategy, but could turn out with High Rewards.

You have heard the Orioles are getting ready to break the bank on Tejada. They are reportedly close with Pudge. Why offer Vlad an offer now, when the O's might turn around and offer him more, therefore driving the price for him up? Wait for the Big Money to be out of the picture, sign him before every other team smells blood, and escape as the gran magician they are.

Obi Wan Loria, Yoda Beinfest, and Dave Napolean know what they are doing.

That sounds like a tremendous strategy to me.

Whatever Beinfest is doing, I trust him. The man is a freakin' genius in my eyes (hence the avatar).
