Rojas exits game with head contusion

after being hit in the side of the face with the ball in the third inning.

Covering second base on a wild pitch from Marlins starter Tom Koehler, Rojas caught a bounced throw from catcher Tomas Telis in the head area.

"The grass was really wet," Rojas said. "I was trying to block the ball, keep it out in front of me, and the hop was really weird. I wasn't expecting the ball to go that high. I'm glad that I could quickly turn my head. It hit me in the [side of the head] instead of my eye."

Play was stopped for a couple of minutes before Rojas rose to his feet and walked with trainers to the Marlins' clubhouse behind the left field fence.

"I'm glad it happened in Spring Training because I can take the time off and go and do the concussion test," Rojas said. "I was feeling a little dizzy and uncomfortable."

With the Marlins off on Wednesday, Rojas said he doesn't anticipate missing any time. "I feel fine," he said. "But it was smart to not take any risk and come out of the game."
